LEADS Head Start is designed to foster healthy development in children from income eligible families. Our program delivers a range of services, responsive and appropriate to the heritage and experience of each child and their family. Each service includes all aspects of development and learning.
Who is eligible?
Preschool age children (3, 4 and 5 year olds), whose birthday falls before the kindergarten cut-off for the school district.
How much does it cost? Head Start is FREE to those families who are income eligible based on the 2009 Poverty Guidelines.
How many children do we serve each year? Head Start has several different programs that accommodate many children. Marysville Head Start serves over 100 children every school year.
When Can I enroll my child? A parent can enroll a child at anytime throughout the year. The Marysville center is open from 7AM to 6PM Monday thru Friday. To enroll a child you will need to bring the following items: Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Shot Records, Medical/Insurance Card, 12 months of Household Income and/or Cash Assistance, Social Security Income (SSI) and Foster documents.
What types of classes do you have?
Traditional Half Day- We offer a morning class that serves the children breakfast and lunch Monday through Thursday. We also offer an afternoon class that serves lunch and a snack daily.
Full Day- We offer a full day class for parents that are working or going to school at least 20 hours a week. They will receive breakfast, lunch and a snack Monday through Thursday.
Home Based- This program is an option for those parents who do not have transportation or the Marysville Center is too far from your home. This program is unique in that the teacher works with the parents 1.5 hours per week. On Fridays, all Home Base children can attend class at the Marysville Center for a typical preschool day.
Full Day/Full Year- This full day/full year program is designed to improve the lives of working families with the hours of 7:00AM to 6:00PM, Monday through Friday. Families in this program will have no co-payment for services rendered.
